As part of the redevelopment of the Sky Broadcasting Osterley Campus in Isleworth, Bourne Steel were responsible for supplying the structural steelwork, secondary steelwork, metal deck floors and fire protection for the ‘Energy Centre’ and ‘Building 2’.
The energy centre is a two storey structure and supplies energy to the main building. Building 2 is a three storey structure primarily constructed from an in-situ concrete frame, with Glulam beams forming the roof. The Bourne package comprised the primary box girders to support the glulam roof beams as well as independent structures within the building to accommodate studios, a restaurant and a two storey mezzanine used for offices and meeting areas. As expected for a high profile client such as Sky, Bourne were required to complete the works to a high level of quality and to very tight tolerances.
