Contracts Project Manager – Bourne Nuclear

Reporting to the Divisional Director for Bourne Nuclear Ltd this role provides an excellent opportunity to join an expanding team working in the Nuclear and Defence construction sector. Bourne Nuclear is part of the long established Bourne Group with a proven track record in providing excellent solutions to the construction industry for over 75 years.

This is an exciting and challenging new position which would suit a Contracts Manager with transferrable skills and ambition to manage and deliver projects. The role will support the Divisional Director to deliver a wide range of infrastructure and bespoke products to the Nuclear and Defence sectors.

Construction sector experience and knowledge is essential.

Duties include :

  • Administer contracts up and downstream with the ability for cost reporting and forecasting.
  • Administer applications, variations, EWN’s, claims and payments both up and downstream.
  • Responsible for providing the entire project delivery for the projects assigned.
  • Responsible for ensuring all project deliveries are achieved in line with contractual obligations, programme and budgets set, through to receipt of the completion certificate.
  • Day to day management of internal departments and subcontractors.

Applicant

The role is based from our Poole office and as required by projects. As locations can vary the post holder must be willing to travel and stay away from home as required

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Good knowledge of various forms of Building Contracts.
  • Experience in administering contracts (e.g. JCT/NEC).
  • Strong knowledge and experience of steel construction methods in a management role.
  • In depth knowledge and experience of steel design, detailing and procurement in a management role.
  • Experience of managing risk/high risk operations.
  • Experience of dealing with various building packages.
  • Experience of procurement and quantity surveying.
  • Experience of the Nuclear and Defence sectors is desirable but not a requirement.
  • Understanding and use of Asta Power Project.

Key Qualifications:

  • CSCS (preferably black or red)
  • Full Driving License
