Congratulations and well done to the Bourne team who completed the 3 Peaks Challenge this weekend in aid of the Dorset Cancer Care Foundation.
The team of eight Bourne employees, Nikki Barlow, Aaron Staples, Maria Hardy, Jon Piggott, Chris Moore, David Lindsay, Beth Romans and Ben Laybourne scaled Ben Nevis, Scotland’s highest mountain, on Friday evening, Scafell Pike, England’s highest mountain on Saturday morning, and Snowden, Wales’ highest mountain on Saturday afternoon.
In total they walked 26 miles, with 2,926 metres of climb, and were driven over 1,400 miles by two Bourne directors, Craig Galway and Nick Hayes.
The team would like to say a big thank you to Craig and Nick for giving up their time (and sleep) and getting them safely to each mountain and home again!
Trainee CAD Modeller and 3 Peaks team member Ben Laybourne said “It was a brilliant weekend, full of amazing people and wonderful views. It was also great to meet people from different areas of the company and come together for a challenge”.
The team have succeeded in raising over £1,000 which will go towards supporting Dorset residents and their families affected by cancer. There is still time to donate to the Dorset Cancer Care Foundation via the Just Giving page – https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/bourne-group
