02-May-2016: Bourne awarded Considerate Constructor Award

Considerate Constructor Award

Design and build car park specialist, Bourne Parking has been awarded a Considerate Constructor Award for their ‘exceptional’ work at the Sky Head Office in Osterley.

The Considerate Constructors Award Scheme is designed to recognise the UK’s most considerate sites for the contribution they have made towards improving the image of construction. The Scheme looks at the measures a site has put in place to be more considerate towards local neighbourhoods and the public, the workforce, and the environment.

Bourne Parking’s work at the Sky Campus began in January 2015 and the car park is now fully operational, providing 843 spaces for Sky employees and featuring 80 car charging points. The seven storey car park is one of the largest single sources of car chargers in the UK.

The former Chairman of the Considerate Constructors Scheme Robert Biggs has said

“The appearance of the site was exceptional bearing in mind the nature and scale of the project.

“Measures to respect the Sky community remained excellent and the site team continue to work with Sky to ensure that everyone is properly informed about the project. It was good to see that all of the entries in the complaints/compliments log were compliments.

“The excellent achievements environmentally had been enhanced further. Environmental performance, set against targets (covering waste, energy, water and CO2) had been displayed in a simple explanatory manner.

“This site is a credit to Bourne Parking and to the industry as a whole. I would congratulate the site team in their considerable efforts and in particular giving thought to improvements and developments that could be implemented, all of which have made a difference. Well done indeed.”

Bourne Parking has been responsible for the construction of over 100 Carparks across the UK since 1994 and are extremely proud to be recognised for their contribution towards improving the image of construction.
