Another month gone by, with 2 further top industry awards won by Bourne Group in 1 month!
September 13th saw Bourne Parking’s Fidelity Kingswood MSCP win the Special Projects Award at the British Parking Awards 2024.

MD Karl Butters and Commercial Director Clive Harding picked up the award for one of the most complex projects we’ve ever undertaken – a fantastic example of the low carbon and circular steel benefits of using structural steel to extend an existing old concrete car park. Owing to its location in ancient woodland, many logistical challenges were successfully navigated, with careful management required due to the environmental constraints and in respect of tree root protection zone. The judges were “massively impressed with the innovative engineering solution and the quality of the workmanship”.

Only a few weeks later at the Structural Steel Design Awards on September 26th, again held in London, this time it was Bourne Steel that were crowned with a Commendation for One Great Cumberland Place, with MD Nick Hatton and BDM Tom Marsden in attendance to celebrate the win! This high-spec development in the heart of London’s West End, directly opposite Marble Arch, is a beauty of a building:

Key drivers of this project included high sustainability credentials and the improvement of the environment and experience of those who work, visit and live in the vicinity. The judges were also very complimentary of the team’s effort to sensitively respond to the modernisation of a valued period building, as well as the retention of the 1920’s original façade, with new floors and openings designed to correspond with the historic elevational details.

Here’s to many more wins over the years to add to our impressive awards cabinet!
