Market Sector: Rail

Client: Network Rail/TfL

Engineer: Arcadis

Main Contractor: Hochtief

The West Drayton Victorian railway station, which sits alongside the Grand Union Canal, has gone through a major development and is now ready for the TfL Elizabeth Line launch in 2022.  As part of the Crossrail project, the Bourne Steel team transformed and installed an extended ticket hall, striking new glass and steel extension, new lifts for step free access to platforms, new footbridges, stairs and platform canopies. The extended platforms are capable of accommodating the longer Elizabeth Line trains, which are more than 200 metres long. This is the fourth Elizabeth Line station project that our team have completed. Crossrail station architecture and complex delivery leads the way in sustainable engineering design for the future.
