Vinci Construction was appointed by the Trust, via the PIC Framework, to provide the new facility and Bourne Parking was then appointed by Vinci Construction following a competitive tender process to provide a full above ground scope of works for the new multi-storey car park at Ashford & St Peter’s Hospital, Chertsey.
Utilising the levels of the existing surface car park, the MSCP was designed as a split-level configuration, which enabled the lower side of the split level at ground to provide an extended headroom of approximately 4.3m clear to provide a route for the MRI unit to safely access its required location within the hospital. The car park provides a total of 694 total spaces, including 34 assessable spaces, 6 electric charging bays and 2 assessable charging bays.
The four precast concrete staircores at the perimeter of the car park, with two lifts and a steel staircase complete with a large canopy located separately on the centre line which connect with a pedestrian link bridge to provide access to the hospital. The cores have bold painted coloured bands and large numbers to enable easy identification of the different levels of car parking.
Our scope also included façade treatment, CCTV, coloured way-finding signage, an intelligent LED lighting system minimising light pollution to adjacent woodlands and an intelligent ANPR camera installation which provides users with real-time information on space availability across the different levels all aimed at making the car park a safe, secure and user-friendly environment .
