Bourne Parking was appointed by SEGRO to provide a full turnkey solution for this highly specified, mixed use multi-storey car park at Bedford Avenue, Slough.
The car park includes both public and hotel parking for the adjacent Premier Inn, providing 222 spaces in total across ground floor and two suspended decks. The challenging construction logistics had to be carefully managed on a site that was constrained on all sides by public highways and footpaths, the mainline railway and adjacent operational business premises.
Key to the planning approval was the high-quality aesthetic of the two prominent elevations. These included bespoke glass panels and the use of ‘living wall’ panels, incorporating sustainable, low maintenance planting, irrigated via a rainwater harvesting tank fed from the staircore roofs. This green infrastructure filters out up to 95% of airborne pollutants, utilising a large expanse of otherwise wasted façade for air purification.
Our turnkey scope as Main Contractor included the Montex superstructure, pre-cast concrete staircores, sub-structure and drainage, new grade level construction, waterproofing, all M&E with electric vehicle charging facilities, façade treatment and soft & hard landscaping.
