The project was to design and build a new three storey, 430 space secure and sustainable multi storey car park in Cwmbrân.  

The ground level of the car park building was fully enclosed with paladin fencing, over clad with polyester powder coated box section fins in a variety of shades of green and grey to match the remaining storeys above and minimize the visual impact of the security fencing.  The pedestrian entrances/exits into the precast concrete stair cores and the vehicular entrance and exit roller shutters were all controlled with a bespoke access control system to prevent un-authorized access.

The building also incorporated a host of high specification MEP systems to further enhance the security and safety of the building.  The CCTV system was designed to provide full coverage of the building and its surrounding environs to CPNI Level 2 standards, and included full facial recognition capabilities.  A fully automatic fire detection and fire alarm system was installed to L2 standards, and included linear detection throughout the covered areas of the car park and cameras with flame detection capability on the top open deck.  The lighting levels were enhanced to provide a minimum illuminance of 15-Lux on the top deck and externally for greater visibility, and the lighting control systems incorporated sophisticated zoning and dimming to minimize the environmental impacts and energy usage of the installation.
