Following a competitive tender process, Bourne Parking were appointed by Milton Keynes University Hospital Trust to support their planning submission and to develop the design of a new multi-storey car park under a Pre-Construction Services Agreement. Our design and commercial teams tailored the scheme to meet the Clients requirement to maximize parking capacity on the site within strict financial constraints.
Bourne Parking were responsible for delivering a turnkey solution comprising groundworks, Montex frame and pre-cast floors, vehicle crash barriers, top deck waterproofing, above ground drainage, white lining, open stairs and all MEP installations. A particular requirement of the design in response to the sensitive nature of the hospital site was to provide a secure parking environment with an ‘anti-climbable’ solution to all elevations.
The parking layout was developed with ramped parking decks to work with the falls across the site and minimize the volumes of cut and fill material being disposed off site. This layout also provided a user-friendly, one-way circulation route with access through the ground floor to further external parking.
