This project involved the total design and build of a four storey multi storey car park providing 567 car parking spaces for the patients and visitors of the new Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.
The project was not only constructed within the large construction site and to the demanding management procedures of a major new PFI consortium, it also had the live operational hospital facilities surrounding the site.
The multi storey car park was constructed using our Montex galvanised steel frame and prefabricated floor units, incorporating precast concrete pedestrian stair and lift core structures. The scheme also included integral bridge links to the surrounding infrastructure and adjacent multi storey car park.
Bourne Parking and Bourne Off-Site Solutions developed a panelized cladding system for the elevations to the car park. The cladding system, which consists of bespoke cedar and Gropius panels, was manufactured and prefabricated into large sections off-site in our factory and then transported to site to be installed onto the erected superstructure.
