Bourne Parking were appointed by Sisk Rail to carry out the full design and build of the above ground scope of works  for the new multi-storey car park at Taunton Station.  The car park was part of a major station-wide upgrade, including alterations and extensions to the station building and a complete re-design of the external areas to improve transport circulation.

Bourne Parking’s scope of works included the detailed design (with full Network Rail Form approval), steel frame, precast concrete floors, vehicle & pedestrian edge restraint, waterproofing, above ground drainage, all Mechanical and Engineering installations, Electric Vehicle charging, passenger lifts, precast concrete stair cores and all internal finishes. The façade treatment included curved perforated standing seam panels, glazed curtain walling and feature signage.

The parking layout was developed on a flat deck and internal ramp configuration to provide simple, user friendly one-way traffic circulation. 400 parking spaces were provided across the ground floor and three upper levels, together with secure cycle storage facilities at grade level.
