Langley Station forms a crucial element of the Elizabeth line, which was upgraded to increase accessibility for those travelling to and from London.
Bourne Rail and Special Projects undertook the superstructure works to the twin span Access for All, comprising of two bridges, three lifts and three stairs. The solution featured a full height glazing system, which created a light, open environment and also included a screeded and tiled floor that enhanced the feel of quality.
The structures were fitted out in the factory and delivered to site as completed units. They were installed over a number of short weekend possessions with, in some instances, the adjacent line remaining open. This required very detailed planning to ensure a safe and efficient site activity.
