The addition of the Media Pavilion within the world-famous tennis club has greatly improved the facilities for press and television. The new facilities include state of the art studios, broadcast suites, interview rooms and a large main interview theatre. It also provides a roof terrace area for outside broadcast activities.
Bourne Rail & Special Projects constructed the steel frame, including off-site intumescent coatings and installed the precast floor units on programme and to the highest standards of quality. A service bridge across the existing tunnel was also provided.
The site for the new structures was bordered on three sides by existing buildings so detailed planning and JIT deliveries were required as was daily co-ordination with other trades. An unusual feature of the programme & sequence was the need to de-mobilise from site to allow the annual championships to take place and then to return when they had finished to complete construction.
