Reading Green Park Station is a new station built to the south of Reading, on the busy Reading to Basingstoke line.
The station will improve the sustainable travel options to and from the area for the local residents travelling to Reading and Basingstoke and beyond, employees and visitors to the Green Park business park and fans attending the Reading Football Club matches.
Bourne Rail and Special Projects carried out the superstructure works for the project consisting of the Access for All bridge, station building, platform canopies and the fire escape walkway.
The structures were delivered to site as completed units where possible with cladding, glazing and metalwork items already incorporated. The work was carried out during a combination of possession/blockade, Any Line Open and normal working hours and required careful planning. In addition to the live railway, careful consideration was also given to the National Grid power lines running across the site.
