In February 2011 National Grid embarked upon a seven-year project to rewire the capital via deep underground tunnels, in order to meet increasing electricity demand and help London access the renewable energy of the future.

Bourne Special Projects have designed, manufactured and fitted steel platforms within the 40 meter deep vent shafts along the tunnel route.

BSPL are also building many of the Head Houses that will be used for pumping hot air away from the 200mm thick power cables that run its length.
